A: That's an excellent question. As an M193 cartridge its bullet should be a 55 grain full metal jacket boat tail by design. I just called Hornady – they confirmed that this is indeed FMJBT ammo, which is what you want. I apologize for the previous incorrect answer, which I'll delete momentarily. A: Sorry we missed you the first time you asked! Hornady bills this as an "M193" round, no "X" included. It was made at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, where countless M193 rounds have been born before.

A: Hi Brian, This ammunition is the result of collaboration between Hornady and Lake City. The bullet is a 55 grain projectile made by Hornady and the brass casing is produced by Lake City.

A: Hi Brian. Thanks for being a LuckyGunner.com customer. All military items have a "M" number that aids in instantly identifying the item. The military has a long stock number (NSN) for every thing, but most are know by that shorter "M" number. This means that the part M193 is a 5.56x45 FMJ round for their rifles. The M855 is the 62 grain round with the carbide penetrating pin in the bullet. Let me know if you have any further questions. Have a great day.

A: These are first run, new factory loads. Many cases will show signs of the annealing process and minor dents are common on bulk, loose packed rounds.

A: Hi Tony. The Hornady rounds do NOT have a sealant on the primer. The brass is only manufactured at the Lake City plant. The ammo is loaded by Hornady using the LC brass casing.
