Every artist needs a medium. The painter needs paint, the sculptor needs clay, and the AR-15 shootist needs 5.56x45 ammunition. A discerning artist like you deserves no less than 5.56x45 from Sellier & Bellot, who have been in business for nearly two centuries.

This is your standard M193 cartridge. It’s the one our soldiers most often stuff their M16 magazines with, and the one countless shooters seek out for popping targets with their AR-15s. The M193 sports a basic 55 grain bullet, with a copper alloy jacket that strengthens it (A) for smooth feeding in a semi-auto, (B) resistance to deformation under intense chamber pressures, and (C) assured penetration through a variety of target types and barriers. This particular M193 round has a hotter than usual 3,301 fps muzzle velocity, giving it more energy downrange coupled with a slightly flatter trajectory. You could certainly use so powerful a rifle cartridge for self-defense and expect satisfactory results. (The threat you neutralize will be considerably less satisfied.)

This round’s non-corrosive Boxer primer won’t create rust in the bore or action, and its modern propellant reduces the kind of fouling buildup that gradually weakens accuracy. Sellier & Bellot’s brass is up to the standards of discriminating handloaders as it continues to feed and extract reliably in a rifle!
