This is XM193 ammunition. "M193" means that it is loaded according to the U.S. Armed Forces most basic specifications for 5.56; "X" means that Federal produced it specifically for the commercial market and not the U.S. government.
This cartridge is furnished with a 55 grain projectile and loaded to a muzzle velocity of 3,165 fps. The nonmagnetic FMJ’s solid copper jacket and lead core do not provide terminal expansion, although the bullet may fragment apart if it penetrates soft tissue at a high enough velocity. The bullet’s boat tail decreases in-flight drag to flatten its trajectory and grant it increased resistance to wind drift (G1 BC 0.269).
This is new production ammo, not military surplus, with reloadable brass cases and non-corrosive Boxer primers. Federal packages all 420 rounds in a premium seam-welded steel ammo can, which will reliably absorb years of sustained abuse while simultaneously utilizing its lid’s integral rubber gasket to seal out moisture.
