What’s up with that funky designation – XM193? Well, M193 is the most basic type of 5.56x45 ammunition the Army issues. Federal Premium puts an X before M193 to indicate that this ammo was made for you and not dear ol’ Uncle Sam.
The XM193 cartridge is loaded with a 55 grain full metal jacket boat tail bullet. The FMJBT has a lead core with a copper-alloy coat. The bullet cannot attract a magnet, which lets you take your AR to ranges that are particular about ammo. The bullet’s boat tail streamlines it so it can retain more velocity, fly along a flatter course, and be less receptive to wind interference downrange.
Federal’s American Eagle cartridges are new production, not old military surplus. You get those noncorrosive Boxer primers. You get those reloadable brass cases. You get that consistent accuracy you want while you’re exercising your favorite Constitutionally protected right! This ammo's cases are brand new.
