Humble roots: When Prvi Partizan first opened their doors on May 1st, 1928, they had only a few loading presses and about 100 workers. They would become the only operational ammunition factory in Yugoslavia during WWII, and afterward developed to the point where they could supply the world with reliable, affordable, and highly sought after cartridges.

Now, nearly 100 years since their foundation, Prvi Partizan is making modern cartridges like this 6.5 Grendel. Equipped with a 110 grain FMJBT bullet, it’s an excellent choice for training and target practice where accuracy matters. The bullet’s hard jacket jacket feeds easily in an AR-platform, and has a boat tail base to reduce the resistance it meets from the air. Combined with its 2,756 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24 inch barrel, this round’s ballistic coefficient hovers around 0.407. At the limit of its 400 yard maximum effective range, this round’s bullet still travels faster than 1,900 fps to deliver approximately 913 ft lbs of energy. That’s great ballistic performance for shooting paper and steel, but also practical for engaging more threatening targets when the situation demands.

In their efforts to cater to the American market, Prvi Partizan uses only non-corrosive Boxer primers to deliver clean performance and the option to reload. This round’s new production brass shell casing bears the “PPU” headstamp that indicates it’s strong and supple, and its clean burning propellant ensures interchangeable muzzle velocities with every shot.
