Prvi Partizan Ammunition began in 1928 and has become the sole supplier of ammo to the Serbian Army and Police as well as to many other military forces around the world. Additionally, Prvi Partizan Ammo produces a large range of hunting and sporting ammunition. Over the years, Prvi Partizan ammo has used their own experience and knowledge to grow, improve their quality, and establish a tradition of supplying both an economical and precision manufactured product.   Recently, on September 7th of 2009, 7 people were killed in a Prvi Partizan Ammo factory explosion. None of the machinery at the plant was damaged; however, because of water damage from the activation of a sprinkler system, ammo production was delayed for about a month.   Prvi Partizan Ammunition is manufactured at the Prvi Partizan factory in the southwestern part of Serbia in a town called Uzice.

Customer Reviews - Prvi Partizan Ammunition

Prvi Partizan ammunition receives consistent praise for its affordability, reliable performance, and broad caliber selection, making it a popular choice for both range use and hunting. Many reviewers report strong reliability with minimal feeding or ignition issues, and widely commend its good accuracy across various firearms, including semi-autos, bolt guns, and vintage rifles. The clean reloading brass and consistent groups are highlighted benefits, especially given value for money. However, concerns about excessive powder fouling and dirtiness are frequently mentioned, with some handgun and revolver loads noted as particularly dirty. Occasional complaints include inconsistent accuracy in certain firearms, primer failures, or feeding issues in specific calibers or models. Despite some clean-burning loads, residue and smoke are recurring criticisms. Overall, Prvi Partizan offers dependable, cost-effective ammo with occasional quality trade-offs, especially in cleanliness and match precision.

Review for 165 grain PSP-BT:
I have fired several hundred rounds of this in an AR-10 for target practice and about two dozen in a hunting rifle while zeroing a new scope. The ammunition worked well in both rifles, delivering consistent, accurate results. Out to 250 yards this will consistently perform at or under 1 MOA in my rifles. Haven't had the opportunity to try it further, but inside of that range it is no worse than more expensive match rounds, so it is worth it to use this for fundamentals at shorter ranges and save the expensive $1+ per round ammo for greater distances. Considering how it performed in the hunting rifle, I would have no concerns deer hunting with this round. As other reviewers noted, the rounds don't dirty up your barrel, either. Will buy again.

FAQ

What rare calibers does Prvi Partizan make?
PPU produces ammunition in over 50 calibers, including many that no other major manufacturer loads: 8mm Mauser (7.92x57), 7.5x55 Swiss, .303 British, 6.5x55 Swedish, 7.62x54R, 7.65x53 Argentine, .30-40 Krag, .45-70 Government, and many more. If you own a vintage military rifle, PPU likely makes ammunition for it.
Is PPU brass good for reloading?
PPU brass is highly regarded by reloaders for its consistency, proper annealing, and durability. The brass tends to have uniform wall thickness and works well with standard reloading dies. Many reloaders specifically purchase PPU ammunition to acquire the brass for their vintage rifle calibers.
How does PPU quality compare to other brands?
PPU offers solid quality at competitive prices. While not matching premium match-grade brands in accuracy, their standard ammunition is reliable and consistent. The real value proposition is access to rare calibers at reasonable prices—for many vintage calibers, PPU is literally the only commercial option.
