Introduced in early 2020, Hornady’s 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge is a true feat of engineering. If you’re still trying to discover the limits of the 6mm ARC’s accuracy, you have just found the right ammo for the job. Hornady’s BLACK label ammo is designed for seamless functionality in any type of firearm, and this particular round’s bullet is all about tack driving accuracy.

This round offers a 105 grain hollow point boat tail projectile. In it we see Hornady’s trademark love for concentric jackets, as well as their knack for perfectly angling a low drag boat tail. This round’s 2,750 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel grants its HPBT bullet a 0.272 G7 ballistic coefficient – enough to keep the bullet flying at 1,341 fps all the way out to the 6mm ARC’s effective range of 1,000 yards!

This is a hollow point bullet, but the core beneath the opening in its tip does not itself possess a nose cavity. The dedicated target shooting bullet instead features a remarkably uniform core, perfectly contoured to the insides of its jacket to promote heightened stability in flight.

You can bet that Hornady got the dimensions correct on a brass case of their own design. This round’s primer and propellant create optimal pressure to cycle any semi-auto system correctly, and they are both formulated to reduce fouling in the process.
