This cartridge is loaded with a nonmagnetic 124 grain full metal jacket, and has an advertised muzzle velocity of 1,090 fps. That would have made it the most normal, average 9mm cartridge you could possibly choose … BUT there is one thing you must keep in mind. That FMJ’s jacket? It’s plated, which means the FMJ has no business being fired through either of the following:
1. A ported barrel; or
2. A ported recoil compensator.
Like all Federal handgun ammo, Champion series cartridges are loaded in Anoka, Minnesota with thoroughly standardized and dependable components. Those include new brass, so go ahead and make plans to reload this ammo if you like!
