A: Hi PE. The decision of projectile weight is a personal preference. There are some who think a lighter but faster bullet is best while others believe in using a heavier but slower rounds. There are arguments to support both decisions, but in the end, both will do the job if you place the shot well.

A: Typically anything less than 1125 fps is considered subsonic. The actual speed may vary slightly with humidity and elevation This round is rated at 1000 fps so would be well below what you looking for. Just be sure to consult the manufacturer of your suppressor with regards to hollow point rounds as not all of them are compatible and it could void your warranty.
