A: Great question Mason! A often overlooked fact of shooting is that virtually all 147 grain 9mm loads ARE subsonic, with only a few that actually advertise the fact. 147s are typically around 950fps to 1000 fps with the entire range below the sound barrier all the while producing quite enough pressure to reliably cycle a semiauto.
I personally like the 147s for self defense since they are very mild shooting and the heavier weight means more to me (considering penetration) than does the higher velocity of a lighter projectile.
You will be well pleased with these Hornady 9mm rounds. Like every product they sell, the quality is top shelf! Ross

A: Yes sir, absolutely. "XTP" is just Hornady's brand name for their propriertary jacketed hollow point (JHP) bullet. This ammo should function flawlessly in a Beretta and any other 9mm firearm.

A: Thanks for reaching out Bill! I foresee no reason why this ammo should fail to function correctly in any 9mm firearm, your Rugers included.
