Perfect training ammo
I bought these in bulk and have had no regrets. I chose these for 3 reasons: 1. they're lead free and I appreciate innovation that make firearms safer/less toxic 2. The price was good compared to traditional lead fmj training rounds, and 3. I prefer lighter bullets for short barreled carry guns like the P365. My choice of carry ammo are the underwood xtreme defenders, which are also a light lead-free bullet. I was hoping these would have similar trajectories as the Xtreme defenders, which they do! I was able to make very accurate groups with these 70 grain training rounds. The rounds make very neat "hole punch" circles in paper targets, which is kind of nice compared to other rounds that tend to rip the paper. As far as recoil, these rounds are kind of odd. They have slightly below average recoil, but at the same time, they are also very snappy, (I'm assuming the recoil is absorbed in a shorter amount of time since a lighter projectile can be pushed out of the barrel faster.) I also noticed a considerable fireball from my p365, (about a foot in diameter) which looked pretty cool to me and it wasn't blinding or anything. I'd imagine you wouldn't have so much fireball when using a longer barreled pistol. The rounds are a little bit louder than most 9mm rounds I've shot, that may be due to the p365's short barrel and fireball, as well as the light round's inherent high velocity. Overall, they performed phenomenally for me, matched well with my carry ammo, and have the added peace of mind that I'm not inhaling lead. These are now my preferred training ammunition. My only remaining skepticism is that the gunpowder residue may still be toxic even though the lead has been removed, so I still wash my hands and shower after shooting, and keep my range stuff away from any food/drinks just in case.
Beyond "as expected"
This was my first experience with purchasing ammo from luckygunner.com. I found the site by chance off a search for firearms reviews. After viewing a Chris Baker video on the site, there was an invitation to buy ammo in support of the site. I live in Illinois and there are documentation requirements to buy guns-n-ammo. The process of buying ammo from luckygunner.com was SUPER easy and streamlined, even with the extra documentation involved for Illinois customers (sorry Chicago). Email responses to questions or comments were/are lighting fast. The ammo performed flawlessly, and I have since ordered more, of a different variety. I certainly will continue to support luckygunner.com and would encourage others to investigate for themselves.
