Great new technology
I love these rounds, they move very fast and have less recoil than anything else. the bullet relies on its spin to generate damage and the results on wild hogs are what sold me despite the bullet being super light. I had no issues out of my 9mm nano so i bought some for a p238 380 its the first bullet i am happy with for defense purposes out of that gun.
ARX is unsatisfactory ammo
I bought two boxes of the Polycase ARX 9mm ammo, having read glowing reports for it in American Rifleman magazine. Jan 30t, I took it to the range, shooting with a Beretta 92F pistol. Loading 5 rounds in a magazine, the first round “stovepiped”. After clearing and reloading the next 2 rounds were OK, then another stovepipe. Cleared and fired the 5th round. The slide blowback was not strong enough to engage slide lock with the empty magazine. I loaded a second 5 rounds to try again. The second round stovepiped. The 5th round also stovepiped. There was not enough gas pressure to drive the slide back enough to clear the case. That ended the experiment with the Polycase ARX ammo. I consider this ammo unacceptable.
Some days later, i tried again with a Glock 26, a much smaller frame. The bullets were stored in a standard military ammo box in a conditioned basement. For this trial, 5 rounds were fired. Not a single one ejected the cartridge and blew back the slide enough to re-chamber a round. all were FTE. One round did not even blow back the slide enough to partially eject the cartridge. Maybe I just got two bad boxes, but this is scary to think the ammo is touted as a "self defense" round.
Put 3 boxes through a Glock 26. No mis-feeds, stove pipes, etc. One magazine when emptied, there was a failure for the slide to lock back out of battery. Devastated 1 gallon milk jug full of water. Went through 4" pine board. No key-holing, Nickle plate the case and you'd have a good self defense ammo.
9mm+P 80grn Inceptor
Arrival of the rounds was with in 2 days of the order and in perfect condition. The rounds themselves grouped nice and tight at 10 yards, even while shooting offhand. Recoil was very managable and mild compared to other +P rounds I have used. Every round fed smoothly with no problems to speak of. I would recomend these to anybody who is interested in them or maybe recoil sensitive, very high quality product.
