Not familiar with 9mm NATO? Don’t worry. It’s real simple. You see, the regular 9mm round has a max chamber pressure of 35,000 psi. The 9mm +P round is more powerful at 38,500 psi max pressure. But the 9mm NATO? It’s a happy medium: 36,500 psi. That means it doesn’t kick as hard as +P, and that it also shoots flatter than standard.

Let’s illustrate the difference in performance. Two trajectories are shown below: 9mm, and 9mm NATO:
• 9mm: 0yds, -0.2” → 20yds, 0.5” → 40yds, 0.0” → 60yds, -1.7 → 80yds, -4.7”
• 9mm NATO: 0yds, -0.2” → 20yds, 0.4” → 40yds, 0.0” → 60yds, -1.5 → 80yds, -4.3”
Real-world results are sure to vary, of course, but you can confidently expect a 9mm NATO bullet to travel in a straighter line. It also hits harder, but what it can’t do is attract a magnet. This is new American-made ammo: steel-free bullets, new reloadable brass cases, and primers and powder that won’t make you spend overly long cleaning your buzzer.
