Armscor is based in the Philippines, and also makes the Rock Island Armory line of 1911 pistols that you may have heard of. Armscor actually owns a foundry where they make their own brass, which helps them to keep cranking out the ammo even when the supply of raw materials is slim. The components for Armscor ammo are made in the Philippines, but the final product is loaded both in the Philippines and in Montana, here in the US.
For this review, we shot a couple of boxes of Armscor Precision 230 grain .45 ACP. The bullet is full metal jacket and the case is reloadable brass with a non-corrosive primer. We found the Armscor Precision to be soft shooting for a .45, which is consistent with its low muzzle velocity of just 830 feet per second.
The ammo ran great in all of our test guns with no feeding or reliability issues. Accuracy was not bad, and we were able to shoot a pretty good 10 shot group from the bench at 15 yards using our Springfield Armory XDM pistol. Despite being one of the less expensive brands of .45 ACP ammo that we've shot, we didn't have any problems with the Armscor Precision, and it should be great for training at the range.

Failure to eject & Failure to feed.
bought 1,000 rounds. Just got back from range. In my 1911 AMT longslide, and in my BOTH my detonics combat master 45s, big problems with FTE and FTF. I have NEVER had a problem with any of these 45 firearms before this encounter with armscor. I will never buy another armscor product, as i deem them unreliable. I would never carry a firearm with armscor as the ammo.
Okay, we bought 1,000 rounds of the Armscor 45ACP 230 Grain FMJ when it was on sell - as we do buy our ammunition normally when I can find it for a good price.
Ran through a 100+ a few weeks ago and ran through another 200+ this week so have a pretty good idea what we're working with. Had NO FTF or FTE's in this batch. Ran the ammunition through... 4 guns? Ruger P90 - Springfield XDM and Mod 2 - FNP 45 - and maybe the Para Ordinance 1911 we have - honestly we don't shoot that one too often and it may have had a few rounds ran through it when we first shot the ammo.
Anyway, a diverse group of guns all ate this ammo up with no problems - will definitely buy this again and believe you will be pleased with this ammo also.
Went bang, but dirty
I bought 1000 rounds and very single one went down range. I had 6 ftf and that was the only issue with my Springfield xd. After 150 rounds ther was so much carbon on muzzle I had to use q tips to clean front dot off.
Ordered these rounds based on price. Have shot approximately 300+ rounds already with no issues whatsoever through a Glock 21. Great value. A little dirty after 50 rds or so pistol mounted light lense is completely covered in carbon but isn't really an issue.
The initial box was very inconsistent
I too had some misgivings when I first opened the box. The cases showed a crimping problem that would cause a crimp. In my first clip I had several (more than two) FTF. Trying not to spoil the day for everyone I switch to PMC and the failures vanished. I plan to test these thoroughly in the next few weeks.
No issues with this ammo after 500 rounds. I was surprised at how clean it was also. I expected a lot worse. Will definitely buy again.
First order received was damaged and as usual when this happens Lucky Gunner always makes things right.
Packaging looks like it was in storage since WW2. Rounds aren't shiny, but fired over 400 rounds without FTL or FTF. I can put up with this old looking ammo under the circumstances. Accuracy very good. Would purchase again. Just expect some dull looking ammo, but great on the range.
High quality ammo
Ran 200 rounds through my Springfield XDM without any FTFs or FTEs. This is a great value and will buy again. LG is second to none in terms of quality and service. I ordered on a Monday and received on Wednesday! How can you beat that? Awesome!
I bought 1000 rounds after watching the video online from LG. I found that this ammo is actually BETTER than some of the more expensive ammo.
So far I have put about 400 rounds through my Para 1911 Expert and I have had ZERO FTL, FTF, FTE's. I cannot same the same for American Eagle, for which I have had several FTL with their ammo.
I am using the two Para magazines and Mec-Gar and Wilson Combat magazines, so I feel certain that the FTL was with the AE ammo and not a flaw of the firearm or magazine.
I use the Uplula speed loader and this ammo loads flawlessly. I would say that it burns medium as far as cleanliness, not bad but not great. For the range or even back-up mags of self defense, I like this ammo quite a bit. I would buy it over AE any day of the week.
Inconsistant, un reliable.
Breaking in a new target gun. after 400 rounds, jams 8-9 times per box. purchased 100 rounds of both PMC Bronze and Blazer, no jams. Next box of Armscor 8 or 9 jams. If you look at the casing you can see the heads look like they're jammed in by monkeys. Never shooting the stuff again.
I'm glad I could sell this
I was excited to finally get something in brass I could use at the range (I can't use steel there). I tried to put 20 rounds through my primary carry weapon (Taurus Millennium PT 145) and I couldn't get 10 rounds downrange before it mis-feeds By the time I have less than 40 rounds fired I've experienced 5 squibs and several mis feeds.. Before you blame it on my weapon I've got thousands of rounds through this gun from different manufacturers and I've never had a problem
Good bullet for just target shooting , and good value . Luck gunner is great to deal with I bought this ammo and they shipped it quick and fed ex lost 300 rounds in the mail I called customer service and with in 3 hours they had shipped out 300 rounds to replace the lost ones .Will buy from them again great people .
Great target rounds
Like the ammo very much...Shot 250 rounds thru my new Les Baer boss 429 1911 to start my break-in...No feeding problem & excellent pattern with rounds out to 25 yds at indoor range... I would recommend this ammo highly....
5 stars, worth the funds and fun
I received 1000 rounds today and went to the range. Both my Rock Island 1911s liked the ammo with no problems in or out. Delivery was right on time. I am very pleased with this product and Lucky Gunner.com. It is my first order but not my last....
Ive used the Armscor .45 ACP for a while now, very reliable feeding, and no failure to feed.
I ordered the 1000 rd case twice from LuckygGunner, and find their customer service and shipping second to none.
