Best available ammo for the .308 I have found! Normally shoot 500 rounds a week, but with this ammo, I miss the range so going more often! Up to 700 rounds a week, all ranges up to 1000 yards! Groups are fantastic and on target 99% of time! Love it! Federal is the only ammo I use, and will keep, doing so for ever! Like their 5.56 and 45 ACP as well.
Always loved it - always will!
If you're a match or LD shooter, this is your round (in .308, anyway). It has better ballistics than the 170+ grain rounds and if your 1000m or under, you'll love it.
Great service & product
It was crunch time for a course and after getting assurances from LG on the arrival timeframe. Definitely going to stick with yaw in future endeavors. As expected high quality service, customer support and great products to always select from.
The best factory ammo there is
I've shot this ammo from a variety of bolt action and two custom A/R platform rifles.
Each deliver 1/2 MOA @ 100 yds. consistently with this ammo . All others I've tried come close on occasion but not with the consistency Federal delivers. The rifles used are Tubb 2000 , A/I , Les Baer Custom Bolt Action and Monolith A/R, Fulton Armory A/R/ , Savage BA,
and CZ 750 Sniper. All had scopes mounted .......
Anything larger than 1/2 MOA , I look in the mirror to fix blame...
Outstanding and Consistant Accuracy
Consistently maintains 1 inch groups at 100 yards from the 16" barrel on a Ruger 762. I was disappointed with the rifle until I changed optics and used Federal Match King.
Optics and ammo do make a difference. Federal Match King is now my go to ammo when I want to know what a rifle and optics are capable of. It will put a smile on your face!
Ammo was delivered fast and it works great
I ordered my ammo and received it within the same business week. I usually shoot a heavier load but I wanted to try the 168 grain in my Savage Sniper Rifle. I was shooting sub MOA at 100 yds and was making head shots on 90% steel silohuettes at 500 yds. It does shoot straight. I had little wind and it was coming from dead ahead. I even had my son and his wife, strictly hand gun types, shoot it and they had no misses. Of course I had to dial my scope up 14 MOAs to have it dialed in but that matched what the charts said the drop would be. You have to love that consistency of good quality loads. The only mark down I gave was the price. As the craziness passes and the supply outstrips the demand I look forward to additional drops in price. Have a great day shooting!
Best of the lot
I tried 6 match grade .308 168 grain loads and these performed the best. I was impressed also by the Australian Outback rounds as they came in second over Hornady and Remington, but Federal was the clear winner in my FNAR.
The best commercial .308 load available
My experience; This particular load cycles in the widest range of autoloading rifles and is, by far, the most accurate in all of them. Any greater accuracy in any particular rifle could only be had by developing hand loads specifically for the rifle in question.
Pricey? Yes.. But balance that with what accuracy and reliability are worth to you... then make that call.
Great Product, Price Not So Great
This is without a doubt the best out of the box factory mass produced .308 ammo on the market. Some reviewers say that .7 inch at 200 yards is perfection (to them) but that still leaves room for improvement. Shooting an MOA of .35 at 200 yards is pretty fair but a Remington 700 5R MilSpec rifle out of the box with a good handload and 175 BTHP bullets can shoot .25 all day long. With a SOLID rest, not a bipod, a good shooter who is familiar with his rifle can beat that. The thing is, with handloads the shooter has a much better chance of totally consistent loads whereas with factory ammo, even Federal Gold Medal there is a better chance of a bad load that will throw his shot off enough to destroy a good group.
It's great ammo but .7 inch at 200 yards is nothing to scream and holler about.
With obamas morons ordering 1.7 billion rounds at the time, prices for ordinary shooters will never be reasonable again, at least until he leaves office. It will take a while after he leaves the White House before things in the shooting community even approach "normal" again, if ever.
I have multiple purchases from LuckyGunner and all have been an excellent experience. I have recommended LuckyGunner to all my shooting friends. At a time when ammo is sometimes hard to find you guys make it a no brainer to shop with LuckyGunner.
