A: No ma'am, it can't. Even if the 5.7x28's larger case could fit inside a 22 LR chamber, it would only succeed at blowing the firearm to smithereens during ignition. Fortunately we've got plenty of 22 LR ammo in stock for you to choose from! https://www.luckygunner.com/rimfire/22-lr-ammo

A: Thanks for reaching out William! I'm afraid the answer is scarcity. It's a vicious circle. Very few people want 5.7x28, so it's only produced in limited quantities by a few manufacturers. Because they don't reduce their production costs by producing in bulk, they charge more for the ammo to make up for their higher production costs. Couple that with the ongoing ammo drought (which has gotten better but still lingers) and 5.7x28 remains one of the most expensive pistol cartridges.
