This is not M855 ammunition. It’s not 5.56x45, for starters, but its 62 grain full metal jacket projectiles most assuredly don’t contain penetrator cores, either. Its ballistic performance isn’t altogether unlike that of M855, although we’d never promise it to be identical to the real thing.

Does that mean Wolf’s 62 grain FMJ doesn’t attract a magnet? Negative. Wolf reduces their costs by jacketing as little of their bullets’ lead cores in brass as they can. Just beneath the bullet’s copper-washed surface sits a layer of soft steel: the reason why this ammo’s not permitted at gun ranges which disallow magnetic bullets.

Wolf’s cases are also made of steel, and for the same reason: cost savings! Buying this ammo lets you enjoy range training without having to invest in brass upfront. It also means you won’t be able to handload afterward, as Wolf’s steel cases cannot be used that way.

This ammunition is loaded with Berdan primers. They’re a more economical alternative to the Boxer primers that are usually loaded in the West, as they lack internal anvils. They’re still noncorrosive, though!
