American Eagle is an ammo brand from Federal, part of the larger ATK family of ammo companies along with CCI, Blazer, and Speer. All of the ammo from the ATK companies is made in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities right here in the United States. American Eagle has a reputation for being some of Federal's best practice ammo and it's also very affordable. For this review, we had a chance to shoot a few rounds of one of the American Eagle 45 ACP loads. The reloadable brass case cartridges hold a 230 grain copper jacketed bullet with a lead core. American Eagle in 45 is available with both small and large primers, and this load uses large primers. Most people won't notice any difference, but if you intend to reload your brass, just make sure to use large primer with these cases. Both the large and the small primer version are non-corrosive. We tried out this ammo with six different pistols to test function and performance. Every round fed and ejected with no issues in any of our guns. Recoil is pretty average for a 45 load and wasn't noticeably different from most other common practice loads. It was a bit of a handful in our compact lightweight Kahr CW45 pistol, but that's to be expected. In a full size gun, it's still a 45, but it's not too hard to handle. Because it is a full power load, it's a good self defense training round and shouldn't be too far from the recoil impulse of most hollow point ammo. We used a Springfield Armory XDM pistol to test accuracy from the bench at 15 yards. As with most American Eagle ammo we've reviewed, we got a decent group, especially for a value price plinking load. Most rounds landed right at the point of aim, with some going slightly high or slightly to the right within an inch or two. American Eagle is one of my personal favorite brands of ammo, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it for any range or practice applications.

My go to 45acp practice round
Review by Bauce45. (Posted on 9/8/14)
Started off with an order of 1k to break in my HK45. Same result as my 1911, round fires without any failures every time. Getting low on the original 1k rounds, time to order some more.

Smooth transaction. Will do business again.

Accurate. Dependable. Affordable. Luckygunner.com's customer service is outstanding. Only "problem" was FedEx guys must be weaklings because it looked like the shipping box was dropped numerous times in shipping. Ammo survived in its boxes but "over-box" was destroyed

Great value for the supply. Lucky gunner was great, most places once you order something you find out later it's out of stock. I would use lucky gunner if I was you!

After almost busting a gut laughing with Grumpy's review all I will say is "ditto". And since all those numbskulls out there who voted for Obummer by not voting... Buckle Up, Folks, It's Going To Be A Bumpy Ride.
Made in USA... the only stuff I will buy.

The things I do to save $10
Review by Grumpy. (Posted on 11/2/12)
Well Heidi says I can have $10 off my next purchase if I write a review; I'm thinking if I write the worst review ever that she'll give me $20 if I never write another one again ;-O So I purchased the Federal 45 ACP ammo and also got the PMC 45 ACP to compare it to. I just purchased a Sig P220 and I fired 100 rnds of the Federal and the next time at the range I fired 100 rnds of the PMC. I had no misfeeds, FTE or FTF. Pulled the trigger and bang; 100% satisfactiion on both of these products. Cleaning my pistol revealed that the Federal left slightly less residue than the PMC but it didn't seem to be a significant difference. Accuracy was similar with both given my mediocre skills. The only difference is that Federal is made here in the good ole USA and PMC is made by the Kay-ah-sah-kees in Korea (for those fluent in Korean cuss words). As for LuckyGunner, except for all of these tedious reviews, the web site is easy to navigate and ordering couldn't be simpler...two days later everything I ordered shows up on my front porch (as if by magic-thanks FedEx!). Now if you've managed to get this far let me discuss something of vital importance (no, not that Heidi is very attractive... ah, if there is a Mr. Heidi then I'm taking about a different Heidi altogether here so no offense); what I'm trying to get at is that it is vitally important that everyone interested in the shooting sports gets out and votes this Tuesday. One set of candidates supports our second amendment rights, the other two will try to take them away. The next president will probably have the opportunity to nominate two or three supreme court justices; recently the second amendment was upheld by a 5-4 decision! If the right justices aren't selected then we will lose this most important American freedom. No excuses, get out and vote!!!! Ok, that is the end of my sermon. To summarize: LuckyGunner=good, Federal/PMC=good, voting for the right candidates=good.
