7.62 NATO (308 Win) was developed in the early 1950s and came into common usage with the U.S. military upon the adopting of the M-14 rifle in 1954. It has been in continual service since then, with the M-60 an M-240 machine guns, as well as some rifles. It is also popular in the civilian world as the 308 Winchester as a medium game hunting round.
Federal is the single largest producer of ammunition for the U.S. military, and also produces a wide range of premium hunting and self defense ammunition. This ammo is loaded at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and features brass cases and non-corrosive Boxer primes.
