This is top of the line, American-made range ammo made by ATK (same company that makes Speer Lawman, CCI, Blazer Brass, etc) - it doesn't get any better.
Video Transcript:
American Eagle is Federal's top of the line range and training ammo. It has a great reputation for reliability and consistency. Federal ammo is made here in the US at their facility in Minnesota. All components are manufactured right in the same plant, allowing for a high level of consistency and quality control.
For this review, we shot a couple of boxes of American Eagle and .45 ACP with a 230 grain bullet. The bullet has a traditional lead core with the copper full metal jacket. The primers are, of course, non-corrosive, and the brass shell casings are great for reloading. We had one failure to feed while using this ammo in a Kimber 1911, but I'm pretty sure it was due to a bad magazine. The ammo worked great in all of our other test guns, and I've never had a problem with American Eagle functioning in any of the .45's I've previously owned.
We used a Springfield Armory XDM .45 to test the ammo from a benchrest at 15 yards. As I've come to expect from this brand, accuracy was great, and it was not difficult to keep almost all the rounds in one big group. I think American Eagle stands up to any other brand of practice ammo and represents one of the best values in its price range.

- GREAT AMMO! Review by MAKAROV

I just want to say I bought a box of these shells and went through the whole box with no jams or misfires. There was 1 shell that we didn't use because it looked like the nose got seated a little too far down and crooked so we didn't use that 1 shell, although it may have worked if we tried. Great ammo for the range or self defense in you prefer ball over HP for reliability or other reasons like local state legality. I was very impressed by this ammo. FEDERAL stamped on the casings. This is good range ammo at a very good price. But what's most impressive is this REALLY heavy box arriving at my doorstep in two days. How did LuckyGunner do that? They must be shipping courtesy Star Trek or Santa Clause! Amazing. This is the premier ammo site in my opinion. (Posted on 12/14/10)Quality Performance Value
