Sellier & Bellot is an ammo company based out of the Czech Republic. They make a wide variety of ammo products for civilians, law enforcement, and military forces, all over the world. S & B is owned by the CBC group who also owns the Brazilian ammo company Magtech.
Today we're looking at one of S & B's .357 Magnum loadings. We shot a couple of boxes of their 158 grain full metal jacket round. This is a load specifically designed for range practice. The bullet is a lead core with a copper jacket and has a flat tip, so it's suitable for use in revolvers, as well as lever action rifles with a tube style magazine. The case is reloadable brass with a non-corrosive primer.
Recoil is pretty moderate for .357 Magnum and was manageable in most of our test guns. It was soft enough that we felt OK trying it in our lightweight compact Ruger revolver, but even with this lighter load nobody really wanted to shoot more than about two rounds.
That said, this is still a pretty good choice for range use if you want to shoot Magnums. And ignition reliability and extraction was great in all of the guns that we used. With a lighter load and full metal jacket bullet this round isn't well suited for self-defense or hunting but it will cause plenty of destruction on the range if you want a powerful plinking round. Accuracy was also pretty good with a nice 10 shot group from the benches, 15 yards using our 4 inch barreled Smith & Wesson 686 and I think we would have had even better results if there had been a rifle handy.
Sellier & Bellot in .357 Magnum is a great low cost target round especially if you're looking for something in that caliber with a more moderate recoil.

Sellier & Bellot has produced nothing but superior quality cartridge ammunition in my experience. I use S&B ammunition in all of the firearms I own. I have purchased 1000 round cases of .45ACP, 9mm, and .40S&W for use at the range. I have also purchased this .357 magnum S&B 158 grain ammunition for use primarily in my LCR.Performance Value Quality
Using Sellier & Bellot ammunition in all of my .45ACP, 9mm, .40&W, and now the .357 magnum LCR has been nothing less than flawless. All S&B I have used has been relatively clean to shoot.
The S&B .357 magnum 158 grain round is excellent for shooting at the range and sufficient for CC. Although this round is a bit snappy in the LCR, it is still one of the best quality rounds I have used. In the semi-automatic firearms I have NOT experienced any issues with FTFeed, FTFire, FTE with any Sellier & Bellot ammunition. Of course not all FTF/FTE are ammunition specific, but in general comparison with other less quality brands, the S&B continues to be my favorite with none of the FTF/FTE issues. S&B ammunition is competitively priced compared to other brands of equal cartridge types; caliber, weight, casing, etc., considering the success experienced with the S&B brand.
As for accuracy, I refuse to comment on ammunition accuracy as accuracy factors include the firearms being used and more importantly the individual shooting the firearm. I have NO issues with accuracy using S&B ammunition and specifically this .357 magnum 158 grain round.

Ordering is easy. Stuff comes lightening fast. Products are great. All 2000 rounds I purchased (not 50). Emails let you know it's on the way, and then follow up. I have no idea as to what anyone can complain about. Okay. 1000 rounds are heavy, maybe the can put a handle on the box.
