That being said, only one type of character actually *needs* this 30-06 ammo: M1 Garand owners, who are keenly aware that modern, commercially loaded higher-pressure 30-06 ammo can destroy their heirlooms’ operating rods. (Destroying an operating rod qualifies as a bit more than an oopsie daisy in our book.)
Hornady makes good ammo. This is good ammo, with the 150 grain FMJ bullets and 2,740 fps muzzle velocity it needs to satisfy original M2 ball specifications. The FMJ is nonmagnetic for compliance at steel-free gun ranges. It’s also nonexpanding, thereby (A) satisfying the Hague Convention of 1899 (which doesn’t apply to hunters) at the cost of (B) being a lousy (if not downright illegal) choice for deer hunting. All that plus reloadable brass. Good times!
