Whether you’re shooting revolver division in IDPA and USPSA or just want some great practice rounds for your J-Frame or LCR, you’ll find that this .38 Special ammo from Military Ballistics Industries (MBI) offers excellent performance at a reasonable price. These remanufactured rounds lower costs by using once-fired brass casings that have been carefully checked for wall thickness, burrs, and splits before undergoing a multi-point cleaning and inspection process. A clean-igniting Boxer primer from Winchester or CCI is installed at the base of each case for dependable function with every trigger pull.

The casing is then filled with a precise measure of clean burning powder and then topped off with 158-grain round nose flat point (RNFP) projectile from Berry's. The RNFP bullet bears a flat tip and rounded ogive which grants easy insertion into cylinders or loading gates alongside safe compatibility with tube magazines. 158 grains is a weight common to the .38 caliber and matches the recoil and flight path of numerous defense and competition loads for efficient range training. Each projectile possesses a ribbed cannelure which prevents setback and reducing jostling in order to yield unmarred accuracy and clockwork reliability.

Compared to factory new ammunition, remanufactured ammunition can have more instances of high pressure, case-head ruptures, squib loads, failures to fire, failures to eject, and other functional issues which, in turn, can lead to damage to your firearm and potentially severe injury or death to yourself or others nearby. The use of remanufactured ammunition may also void the warranty on your firearm, therefore review your firearm’s owner’s manual or contact the firearm manufacturer with any questions. 300 rounds through S&W M&P 360 - 3 cracked shell casings, once incomplete discharge resulting in cylinder freezing.

My first 2 bags ordered were flawless. My third bag contained 3 individual cracked shell casings and one shot fired with incomplete discharge. I was able to fix the seized cylinder.

Best .38 special ammo

I exclusively shoot .38 special and I usually go shooting twice month. I have shoot just about every type of .38 special ammo out there and even done some reloads of my own. I can say with out a doubt in my mind that this is the absolutely best .38 ammo on the market. It is the cleanest ammo I have ever shoot in my life, I have put a full 100 rounds through many of my revolvers and afterwards only have to do about 5 mins of clean up and the accuracy and reliability is above par I never had a misfire or failure to fire after about using 6000 rounds of this ammo. It is so good in fact that I use it at all my carry guns now.

Novice shooter, SW 686 SSR and SW 1911 9mm both pro-series. First 1000 rounds .38spl was great. consistent accuracy, no stuck rounds or cases. a bit dirty but compared with American Eagle this was a dream. Out of 1k about 20-30 misfires, but all eventually fired. Also purchased 2000 rnds 9mm same brand - first 1k all fired as expected, none stuck, or misfired. mild to moderate residue.
LG rocks and will continue to buy MBI as a solid, readily available and inexpensive practice round.

Eighth round a squib - be careful

In my S&W 357 Magnum the eight round was a squib and got lodged just inside barrel. I get these are reloads, but this has never happened in the years I have owned this gun with any different types of ammo I have tried. I will update this again the next time I go to the range and raise the stars if this just happened to be a fluke anomaly.

I can't shoot more than 50 rounds at a time because of a old 12ga. shotgun wound in my right shoulder from back in 1974, during a robbery attempt at a convenience store that I managed. I was shot point blank with 00 buck directly through the plate glass window I stepped in front of. I also have a 6in. rotator cuff tear in the same dominate right arm. So it took me two trips to fire all 100 rounds. However every round fired flawlessly like new ammo and I will return to buy more.

We purchased these FMJs for the range and are very pleased with the product, value and performance. This is now our preferred ammo, works flawlessly with no failures for our Rossi .38Spl and 158g is what I prefer due to shoulder injury.

How old am I? Lets just say when I retired from KCMO. PD. we were still carrying the S&W model 10- and 15's. I still have my old service model 15 and I take it to the indoor range. I have found this particular .38 ammo works flawlessly. Never a misfire and great 158 gr ammo for me. It is so reliable I carry it in my conceal carry .38 snub nose

I have bought several different calibers of MBI reloads and have never had any problems. They are always at good prices, as accurate as I let them be, and great shooting. I use them in my old Ruger Security Six 357 for practice since this is cheaper. LG always has these at the best prices and super fast shipping.

I have purchased .38 Spl and 9mm X 19mm Luger remanufactured ammo produced by MBI and I have been completely satisfied with the performance of these products. I have had only one instance of a failure to fire in over 8K rounds bought.I continue to buy when I do not have the time to reload my own range ammunition.

Out of dimension rounds

Used 38 Special in Ruger revolver. Have fired 357 rounds through it without problem. When firing these 38 Special Rnds, One group would not even allow full closure of cylinder. Friend who is expert reloader measured rounds and found case dimensions expanded beyond specs. He has advised me to not use this ammunition. Suggest you use better quality control when selecting used cases. I will not even use rest of the 200 rounds purchased.

I bought this ammo for practice with a S & W 38 Special Revolver. Seems to work great. Not many local suppliers can get or carry 38 Special, so can be hard to find for me. LG comes through for me. Will buy this product again for use at the range.

I shot 100 rounds at 50, 100 and 150 yards. This is very good ammo for reloads. I used my S&W revolver with 6" barrel and my Taurus revolver with 6" barrel. I am very pleased with this ammo.

A lot more malfunctions than I anticipated, I shot 100 Rounds threw a .S&W 38 revolver and it was just misfire after misfire. I finally got the misfired Rounds to go off after reusing them a few times. I've shot this gun with different ammo with no problem that's why I'm blaming the ammo. At one point I had 3 failure to fire rounds out of five in one line of fire. I took that opertunity to teach my wife how to deal with malfunctions. I will buy It again just because it's cheap and I dont use for defense. Its great for malfuntion practice. Hope this helps.
