The bullet has the same profile as a cone with its tip cut off, enabling it to feed more smoothly in a semi-automatic as well as punch a cleaner hole through a target. As the bullet digs through a soft medium, its exposed lead core will cause it to mushroom outward quickly. In conjunction with the 44 Mag’s immense muzzle energy – 1,194 ft lbs in this round – such accompanying expansion is debilitating to a threat to say the least.
