We recently pitched our idea for a sixth “Dirty Harry” movie to Clint Eastwood. In this movie, which is set in the present day, Inspector Callahan comes out of retirement to confront the greatest threat to San Francisco yet: large bears. Mr. Eastwood has yet to return any of our calls, but we assume that’s only because he’s busy.
But when Dirty Harry vs. the Large Bears does get greenlit, we already have the most important detail ironed out: the ammo Inspector Callahan carries, which will be Hornady Backcountry Defense because it’s specifically made for neutralizing dangerous game!
This cartridge’s bullet is a real serious thing: a 240 grain Dangerous Game Handgun, which pops out of an 8” barrel’s muzzle at a real heavy velocity of 1,620 fps. But the DGH doesn’t just subdue the beast through raw power. Its special protected point design locks its copper shell and lead core together so as to ensure abnormally deep penetration accompanied by zero or little deflection. In other words, the DGH is a bullet that forces its way through a big animal’s thick defenses so it can reliably reach the underlying vitals.
