45 ACP has gained a popular reputation for it's reliability and ease of use for your carry pistol. The jacketed hollow point bullet is coated in a harder metal to increase bullet strength and less fouling in the barrel. The hollow point cavity causes extreme expansion and fragmentation on impact so that you carry with purpose.

Ballistics Test Summary

We test fired five rounds of .45 ACP (Auto) Federal 165 gr Hydra Shok into synthetic ballistic gelatin to observe its expansion and penetration characteristics. The ammo was fired from a Kahr CW45 pistol at a distance of 10 feet. A four-layer barrier of heavy fabric was placed in front of the gelatin to simulate clothing.

Pictured below is a high speed video that shows the bullet entering the gel at approximately 10,000 frames per second.
