Military Ballistics Industries is an American ammo company that provides high quality remanufactured training ammo for civilians law enforcement and military.
A lot of people have preconceived notions about what remanufactured ammo is like, and maybe it conjures up images of sketchy reloads from a gun show. MBI couldn't be any different. All of their components are carefully selected from respected manufacturers like CCI, Winchester, and Hornady. They also use state of the art electronic loading machines that provide the same consistency and quality as factory new ammo. The only difference is that the MBI shell casings have been used before. MBI cartridges utilize once fired brass or nickel plated brass cases that usually come from law enforcement shooting ranges. Head stamps are mixed and come from a variety of manufacturers, but they're all checked for defects before being reloaded.
The MBI load we tried out for this review was a 185 grain .45 ACP. The bullet is copper plated with a lead core. Plating is very similar to a copper full metal jacket, except that plating is a little thinner, and not the best choice for ported barrels. For any other guns, it works just like the more common jacketed ammo. We tried this load in six different handguns to see how it would perform. Other than one ejection failure in our Colt pistol, we had no problems with feeding or ignition. Recoil on this lighter weight was not measurably different from what we're used to with most 230 grain practice loads. If you shoot a lot of .45, you may notice small changes in recoil or point of impact, but they should be slight.
Accuracy was tested from the bench at 15 yards using a Springfield XDM. The ten shot group was not quite as consistent as we were hoping. But, we inadvertently ended up with a symmetrical design out of it. It kind of looks like an eagle just like the MBI logo.
Even with the less than stellar accuracy, the MBI ammo performanced pretty well in all other respects. It's some of the most affordable .45 available, and for that, you still get reloadable brass cases and safe range ammo that's made in the US. If you still have doubts about MBI's performance, be sure to check out the customer reviews for MBI and other handgun calibers.

Excellent ammo for the price. Several hundred rounds down range without a single problem.
I purchased this ammo for IDPA and USPSA club matches. I shoot a 4" Bill Wilson Carry 1911, and the 185 gr ammo give me better control of the muzzle. Ordering from LuckeyGuner.com was easy. The price was better than anything I could find locally. And the shipment arrives quickly. I have now used about 500 rounds of the ammo without a single jam, misfeed or FTF. Could not be more happy. I will be ordering more. (And the brass can be reloaded, so what's not to like?)
great ammo at a good price
I have been shooting this ammo for many years (probably 35,000 to 38,000 rds and I have only had one hang fire in all this time. My Para's, a Colt 1911, a Rock Island and a Kimber all love it. m I have experienced minimal feed jams (maybe 1 out of 200 to 300 rds. same as any other brand of ammo) and ejection problems with MBI ammo. I have been buying direct from BMI but have since switched to buying it here as the price is about $11.00 cheaper even with shipping. Practice safe range skills and know the definition of Gun Control ( Hitting what you aim at) while having a great time. Stay safe all!
I ran 200+ rounds through my 21SF, 30SF and 36 today...no issues and had a great time.
It's not much cheaper than factory loads though, so you might as well go that route and have the factory backing and warranty.
