Sure, hunting and self-defense are serious business. But does that mean you have to frustrate yourself at the range with subpar ammo? We think not. That’s why we carry Hornady’s Frontier line of 5.56x45 ammunition, perfect for all your recreational AR-15 shooting needs!

Hornady outfits this cartridge with their 55 grain HP Match bullet, a showcase of accuracy enhancing features. The HP Match’s sleek secant ogive profile and gracefully tapered boat tail base work hand in hand to reduce drag in flight, granting it a higher velocity, flatter trajectory, and superior resistance to wind drift downrange. The HP Match also boasts stellar rotational stability courtesy of Hornady’s concentric AMP jacket and its swaged lead core. (Although a hollow point bullet by design, the HP Match is optimized for accuracy and not terminal expansion, suiting it better for target shooting than self-defense.)

Frontier ammunition is loaded at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. The U.S. government-owned facility produces over one billion rounds annually for the Armed Forces, and they implement new production heat-treated brass cases, non-corrosive Boxer primers, and clean burning military-grade propellant when they assemble these fine 5.56 rounds.
