This cartridge has an unusual bullet, albeit an extremely useful one for all kinds of target practice – especially if you’re posting up indoors or ringing steel at close range. The jacketed frangible bullet’s core is made of sintered copper. It’s essentially compressed copper powder that is hard enough to remain intact during ignition, but brittle enough to fragment apart upon collision with a hard surface. Its frangible core makes the bullet totally lead-free. The bullet’s copper-alloy jacket hardens it enough to ensure reliable feeding in semi-automatic firearms.
This ammunition could be effectively fired in self-defense. That said, we must advise that the jacketed frangible bullet is incapable of exhibiting the terminal expansion which neutralizes a threat more effectively. Moreover, the jacketed frangible bullet is extremely capable of passing through a threat as well as multiple walls. In other words, you cannot reasonably expect this ammo reduce the risk of over-penetration that could jeopardize an innocent bystander.
Fiocchi’s 5.7x28mm ammo is noncorrosive, Boxer-primed, and outfitted with brass cases that will prove to be of great value to handloaders.
