The 6.5 Creedmoor is a hot rod long-range “you-to-target” rifle cartridge – named after a historic 1,000-yard rifle range that used to be on Long Island, of all places.

We’re willing to bet there are no good places left on Long Island for long-distance shooting. But if you know a good spot, then you’re all set to get your money’s worth out of this Federal Premium American Eagle ammo.

The open tip match is an accuracy-only kind of bullet. One hundred forty grains of flat-shooting anything is good enough to eliminate varmints, needless to say, but the OTM just doesn’t drive deep expansion or expand after impact, which rules it out for larger game. It’s at the range where you’ll really appreciate the OTM for what it is: a sleek, thin-jacketed, aerodynamically efficient and balanced bullet that excels at reaching way the heck out there.

This round’s 24” barrel muzzle velocity is 2,700 fps. That’s faster than our shipping, but our shipping’s still really, really fast.
