It’s good to give tips! For instance, when your waitress brings you breakfast, what do you give her? A tip. And when you see a guy hurt himself at work, what do you do? Tell him what he should have done differently (i.e. give him a tip, which he’ll surely appreciate in the heat of the moment). And when you see a massive buck pause to take in his surroundings, you’d better believe you give him a tip, too!

A polymer-tipped bullet, to be more exact – such as none other than the Hornady Super Shock Tip. This 6.5 PRC round’s 129 grain SST is a real brute: toughened by the InterLock ring and cannelure which lock its core and jacket together in two separate places (thus assuring the deep penetration which follows from high weight retention), as well as a red polymer tip to initiate fast (yet highly controlled, thanks to the SST’s precision-tapered jacket) terminal expansion.

The SST doesn’t aimlessly meander toward its target like some kind of bumble bee that sipped too much lager. It’s extremely aerodynamic and puts an Olympic gymnast’s balance to shame, which is how it manages to achieve 0.485 G1 BC upon popping out of a 24” barrel. If you like ballistic data, then get a load of this round’s long-range performance:
