This new defense 9mm Luger ammunition from Browning is packed with features designed for carry applications. Browning X-Point (BXP) rounds use a jacketed hollow-point (JHP) projectile with a protective "X" in the lead cavity; this design is intended to shred intermediate barriers like clothing before impact to prevent clogging and allow for maximum expansion in a target. The 9mm X-Point JHP projectile weighs 147 grains which is heavy for the caliber and provides optimal penetration and threat-dropping cavitation as well as a smooth recoil impulse.
BXP ammo is assembled using reloadable brass casings which are black-nickel plated not only for corrosion resistance, smooth feeding, and reliable ejection, but for quick identification as defense rounds.
