1. Shell casings
Once upon a time, CCI decided to invent a more economical alternative to the traditional brass case. They fine-tuned a heat-treatment process that turns aircraft-grade aluminum into reliable cases, and voilà! Aluminum cases, which are not reloadable but which are plenty more economical than brass.
This round’s bullet is a plated full metal jacket: not intended for ported barrels and/or compensators. That aside, it’s as normal as a 45 Auto’s FMJ can be. Nonmagnetic; 845 fps muzzle velocity out of a 5” test barrel. Advertising 45 Auto 230gr ammo as “subsonic” is like advertising a motorcycle as having “two wheels,” but it’s subsonic nevertheless!
