And they did just that. And they named the fruit of their labor the “eXtreme Terminal Performance.” And then Armscor loaded that bullet in this 380 Auto everyday carry cartridge, and all was good.
The XTP’s jacket shields its tip, hardening it for surer interaction with the feed ramp. It also spares the XTP’s rim from deforming significantly on impact, so it can enter flesh with its potential for terminal expansion unharmed.
The XTP’s jacket is not uniformly thick. Instead, it starts out thick at the base and gets progressively thinner toward the bullet’s nose. Its rim is additionally notched – serrated, technically, in a symmetrical array radiating around the nose cavity – which helps the jacket provide even less resistance against terminal expansion.
The XTP’s jacketed base and swaged lead core both count in favor of its accuracy. Armscor’s high-quality components (including reloadable brass cases) all do their parts to help the XTP take accurate flight.
