THIS AMMUNITION CANNOT CYCLE A SEMI-AUTOMATIC FIREARM.

Let’s put things in purely objective terms.
1. Prvi Partizan’s normal 7.62x39 cartridge (123 grain bullet; 2,461 fps muzzle velocity out of 24” barrel) has a power factor of 302.7.
2. This 7.62x39 cartridge (182 grain bullet; 1,033 fps muzzle velocity out of 24” barrel), on the other hand, has a power factor of 188.0.
That means this ammo is less than two-thirds as powerful than average.

That’s why you’ll have to manually cycle a semi-automatic while firing this ammo. It just hasn’t got enough juice to operate an AK-47, SKS, or what have you.

But Prvi Partizan didn’t load this ammo to an extra lethargic muzzle velocity because they were trying to save money on powder. Between its weak propellant charge and exceptionally long and heavy bullet, this round’s muzzle velocity falls reliably short of breaking the sound barrier – an unusual feat for the 7.62x39. That’s golden if you’re firing through a suppressor (i.e. a muzzle device which is categorically unable to muffle the sonic “crack” that accompanies supersonic ignition).
