Sharp Tips Jam on Lcp2 and Lcp Max feed ramps
I am usually a big fan of Fiocchi ammo, but NOT this one. This JHP design is very different from the 9mm JHPs that I love.
My family has 2 LCP2’s and an LCP Max, and this ammo quite often gets jammed on the feed ramps of all 3. It has very sharp flute points that catch and jam easily.
Since JHP is considered defensive ammo, it must feed reliably, and this stuff is a total fail. Might get you killed if you have to rely on it to work in the real world. I do t know why they continue to sell it with all the bad reviews I’ve seen over the years. If you do buy it, please make sure it really works in your gun.
Did not feed properly.
Did not perform well with my Glock 42. The hollow point rounds kept catching on the feed ramp resulting in a malfunction. Happened 4 times in the first box of 50 rounds.
Love Fiocchi. I’ve never before had an issue. But I don’t recommend this round with the Glock 42. May work well with other handguns.
Jammed about 50% of the time in my Ruger LCP II
Though the shipping was great and the ammo shot on every trigger pull, my LCP2 really hated this stuff, about as badly as it hated steel-cased Tulammo; it jammed constantly. Probably try a different kind of carry ammo in your LCP II.
Great time shooting
I had a great time shooting the Fiocchi 90grn 380s. Not a single failure related to the ammo. Not one to know much of the difference in brands, I found the Fiocchi to be reliable, and of good consistent quality. My grouping for this ammo was very good. I look forward to when their on sale again as it was a nice deal at the time of my purchase (cost/rnd). I expected some issues with it being 90grn instead of something heavier, but that was not an issue through my G42. Thanks Fiocchi and Lucky Gunner!
I carry a BG 380 (pre-M&P), and it's been fussy as heck with the dual recoil spring. Several types (most notably the cheap Perfecta ammo at WalMart) can't feed 5 rounds in a row properly. I fired 2 boxes of this without issue. Accurate, powerful enough, and dirt cheap for a carry round. Finally feel happy with the BG, and I'll be getting more of this.
My Primary Load for EDC
I use this load for my everyday carry in my M&P Bodyguard 380. I did a lot of research and narrowed my choice down to the Hornady Critical Defense and the Fiocchi Extrema. Both are excellent rounds but I liked the way my gun handled the Fiocchi better. Plus I have read overwhelming favorable reviews for the Fiocchi, so use that as my primary load and carry the Hornady in my backup magazine.
Good ammo, fast service, moderate pricing
We shot about 100 rounds yesterday without a single failure. I'm well pleased with the purchase, the great customer service and follow up email to check on our satisfaction.
Great ammo at a reasonable price. A value.
I discovered Fiocchi at the Lucky Gunner site. I've had excellent success in my 357, 380, 9mm, 45acp,
and 20ga shotguns. The first class range I visit also features the brand. The 20 ga high velocity shells were particularly impressive as they held their own against 12 ga loads. Great brand, great site.
Great bang for the buck!
This ammo has worked flawlessly in my S & W .380 bodyguard and my wife's Bersa .380 thunder. The testing I have done with this ammo has given very good results, especially for the price. The results I have gotten have been very similar to the Hornady XTP bullet, so close even I have compared them very closely and wondered if it was the same bullet. Doesn't look quite the same, but very close to the same and results are as well. One of the best self-defense rounds I have found for the price!!!!
I like this ammo because I trust it.I orded it for my 45acp.So I purchased it online same day that I purchased IOHellcat 380 gun online.Got them both 2 days later.I read the Hellcat only likes certain ammo.I was glad to see that the manufacturer reccomends using this ammo in their gun handbook.Nough said!
Defensive .380 ammo where I live costs .80 to 1.00 a round, so even with shipping this ammo costs about half as much. It has never malfunctioned in my LCP. And the promptness of shipping is unbelievable! I always take standard shipping and m;y ammo arrives in just a few days.
This ammo feeds perfectly in my Ruger LCP. I have mixed it and matched it and no hiccups whatsoever. Penetration is good as well as expansion in a variety of media. It really gives the little .380 a boost! Cost is minimal for the value compared to boxes of 20 'designer rounds.' And, It is well presented and marketed. As others noted, this is a BU gun for me to my .40 Glock and yet I feel confident that with this ammo that my LCP will function flawlessly and that it will do what it is designed to do. Thanks Fiocchi!
The 90 grain JHP performs perfectly in my Ruger LCP. I used it to break it in and have fired over 100 rounds now without a failure of any type. While the gun is accurate at short range, due to the sights I will not attempt to compare this to a 'target' pistol. Yet, penetration and expansion is truly unique for the diminutive .380. I carry a .40 Glock much of the time and use Fiocchi ammo for the same reason - dependability and expansion with adequate penetration. The price is the best value of anything on the market and while this isn't a +P load, not recommended in the LCP, it packs a whallop. Enjoy it as I do!!
