I have been shooting 7.62x39 ammo for 30 years. This is by far the best. Zero drop out to 200 yards. I took a buck today with a shot to the neck at 135 yards. He dropped inplace. The round exploded in the cervical spine, no exit. Fantastic product.

Shoots very well. Great result on deer.
Review by R
Picked up a few boxes for use on deer in an AR I built for the cartridge. Taken a couple mule deer at 50 and 120 yds both dropped on the spot with a double lung shot. Shoots as accurate as I think my rifle is capable of. I get 1.5 MOA from my AR. After 200 yards it drops quite a bit but I think of it as similar to a 30-30. Love this ammo for what it is supposed to do. Did outstanding damage and passed through with very little waste.

Very accurate
Review by John
Just shot this next to some 77 OTM black hills and my XCR 11.5” barrel liked the Hornady better! fine by me, 40 cents cheaper per round! Was zeroing at 50 yards and all three rounds were touching. Made my adjustments, confirmed, reloaded the mags for THIS rifle. My Daniel Defense still prefers Black Hills.

Used to break-in a new S&W Shield Plus 22 Mag auto pistol. Ammo performed very well....as expected. All jams were the pistol's fault; that is the purpose of the break in.

Almost Perfect for Bodyguard 2.0

DISCLAIMER. I left the previous review 'Perfect for Bodyguard 2.0' which may was a bit too early after 50 rounds. Based on this earlier perfomance I ordered another 250 and took it to a competition shoot to see how the gun and ammo will hold up under more stress. I like to compete and train with the ammo I carry and I was so happy to find a fairly priced, great perfomer from Hornady... or so I thought. Unfortunately I had almost 25 rounds (an entire box) failure-to-fire with light primer strikes. Needless to say my times werent the greatest but the biggest takeaway was the reliability. They were all from the same box as well. Other boxes ran just fine which leads me to believe it was a box of 25 rounds and not a firearm related issue. I.e. some faulty ammo from Hornady... Some rounds required the primer to be struck 3-4 times before they went off. This has caused me to seriously reconsider this ammo for defensive use. I still have about 100 rounds left which I will continue to run through the gun. If they run without issue I will let it slide as a bad box that made it past QC. Still bad but that is just the nature of the beast nowadays unfortunately. I have also ordered some WInchester FMJs to have second set of FMJs as a reference point and to absolutely make sure I am not blaming the ammo for a gun related issue but everything points to the ammo at this point as stated earlier.

This is as close to superior match grade that you can ever expect out of an expanding, hunting ammunition. However, it can be bought locally for less, without added shipping.

Service was great from LG as usual but these magnum rounds expanded (lengthened) some how in my Ruger Alaskan 2.5 and after 3 shots, cylinder would not turn. Funny because the 325g flat nose ammo did fine. Trying these again in a 260g. Anyway, the 454 in the 2.5 Alaskan is manageable but literally a Hand Cannon. Hold on tight! Thanks…

Increased my grouping with both 1:7 twist rifles. Not a single failure or hang up. Very pleased with this ammo from Hornady. This has become the only ammo I run for them now
